Twiggs County Georgia Official Resigns Over Legal Porn on Computer
TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga.—A ten-year employee of Twiggs County has resigned after a year and a half investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation originally begun to see if he was operating a private business out of his work office. He wasn’t, but he did have over 1,300 sexy pictures on the computer, and that’s what eventually did him in.
County administrator Glenn Barton offered his resignation Wednesday in a letter to county attorney Tom Richardson after county commissioners had scheduled a special meeting to determine if having the porn on his computer violated county policy.
All involved admit that the images were legal.
According to Macon.com, “Houston County special prosecutor Amy Smith concluded that Barton did not use his county computer to conduct personal business and that the images found on Barton's computer were not criminal. She said that in viewing the images, Barton could have violated county policies.”
Barton’s resignation should come as good news not only to those who have a zero tolerance policy for people like him, but also to those who think the Justice Department has been MIA in the war on porn.
