Four people were arrested Tuesday after a prostitution sting in Burlington NC
BURLINGTON, N.C.—
Four people were arrested Tuesday after a prostitution sting in Alamance County.
Eusebio Caden Cruz, 19, Evelia Davila Ramos, 29, and Abel Cruz Segura, 30, and Lazaro Morales-Lauro, 38, were arrested on various prostitution charges.
Alamance County deputies said they received a number of tips of suspicious activity at a home on 843 North Anthony St. Deputies raided the home on Tuesday night and made the arrests.
Deputies alleged Ramos, who is from Mexico, was the prostitute. Deputies said they don't know how long she had been there, or if she was a willing participant. Human trafficking cases have been increasing in the county, deputies said.
Morales-Lauro, of Thomasville, was charged with engaging in the act of prostitution.
Segura was charged with maintaining a place for prostitution and aiding and abetting in acts of prostitution. Cruz was charged with maintaining a place for prostitution.
All were placed in the Alamance Detention Center under $2,500 bonds except for Cruz, who was jailed under a $3,000 bond.
Marisella Santiago Matias, 20, of Graham, was arrested for driving without a license after deputies said she pulled up to the residence during the raid.
Investigators said they had been watching the home for a few days.
"I saw a lot of movement--cars coming in and out. I just didn't know what it was. I'm glad they caught it," said Douglas Pedro, neighbor.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement is questioning the citizenship of some of the people involved.
